Classical Nude Sculptures

Inspired by the classical nude sculptures of ancient Greece, these finely detailed figurines are handmade over the live flame from crystal clear borosilicate glass. After being formed, each work is annealed in a kiln to give it strength and durability and then are mounted on a custom-sized black wooden base made of poplar wood. (The figure is removable from the base, not glued.) Each piece is signed under the base with a silver paint marker, "Gemei 2009".
